ive got a 99 that i am taking out the 4.3 and putting in a non computer 383 carb motor the truck has anti locks what am i going to loose by removing the computer

alot of the \"new truck appel\" if this is going to be a daily driver maybe just add a supercharger with a carberated engine youll have trouble with your gauges and im not sure about the abs

no its not a daily driver if i have to i will install autometer gauges in the dash i just want a/c and light tostill work i did a 1982 camaro a long time ago but the computer didnt control much back then

as long as you make sure all your grounds are good the lights will work guages wont not with carbed you\'ll loose auto lights which turn your headlight on when it gets dark.. wiper work fine.. I dont think ac will work right because with the older ac compressors there was not a very heavy load ie they were not as good at compressing coolant as the new style so the motor was fine. the new ones will lag your motor a lot in idle you\'ll have to compensate with throttle.. your computer compensated by turning up your idle when it detected a ac signal. other then that the ac clutch should be easy enough to wire...
