i never raced in a truck and now im building one how is the arodynamics? is it shakey at high speeds? theer must be alot of noise from the air tumbling over the car.

I have no idea what it\'s like behind the wheel of a V8 S10 (yet) but I know that when I hit speeds of 90 or so in my S10 with the stock 2.0, the thing felt like it was pushing a lot of wind. Not an unstable feeling but the faster I went, the more floaty the front end felt. Of course this was before much weight was sitting between the fenders...

Just like anything else. It will need to be modified to handle high speeds. Iv\'e got a blazer. But, I\'ve done extensive mods to it. Im building mine for all around performance, not just drag racing. More pro touring than pure drag race. I\'ve only had it to around 130 mph so far. I\'ve got 18\" 40 series tires, poly bushings, thicker sway bars, 5\" drop, etc.

Mine has no swaybar at all, and my truck is very light. I do think it has a little floating effect but its no enough to make me want to lift out of the throttle. Dont worry about loosing it or having it get outa controll. A good set of shocks would be a good idea though.
I HAVE HAD MINE TO ABOUT 140 WITH O.D. NO PROBLEMS STOCK FRONT END.

good tires, lowering helps and don\'t forget good brakes the little trucks handle pretty good at high speeds

click on my name and look at my mods and you will see that there is no specila mods to it as in makeing it more stable...in fact i run well over 110 in the quarter (a lot faster ) and i can leterally take my hands off the sterring wheel when i leave the lights and never touch the wheel again ..it goes straight and dont shake or walk at all,,,,..at that my friend make the dirrenence between a fun driving truck and one thats no fun to drive...just make sure that all you front end parts are in good shape and rock and roll

just dont be scared of power that is for the girls...LOL j/k dont worry aboout a thing. The only way for you to tell is to take her up to about 120 and see how it does. if all is good dont be afraid to go faster, on the other hand if all is not good you better fix some stuff before tryung to goi faster.LOL

i\'ve run mine countless times at the track. in the south we run 1/8 mile. i drive my truck every day to work(3.42 gears) and have turned 7.50\'s@92mph on the slicks and have run 7.98 on regular old radials.when it does spin it usually turns 8.30\'s@102 mph;all these times are on motor w/pump gas. 82\' SS-10,406 s.b.c. th350 w/10\" converter oh! it has also won many awards at the shows also. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

So your saying that this is a low 10 sec 1/4 mile truck on 3.42\'s and pump gas...I\'d have to see it to believe it.

Hell even with a 102 trap in the full 1/4 that would be a high 12, but in the 1/8th that makes it like a high 9. dont think so, not with 3.42s anyway, well i guess if he had about 900hp, a low 1.5x 60ft and a powerglide..but i doubt that.

I run 11.03 at 122mph on slicks, but have run on the street against a Viper and we were topping past 135 and had no problems with handling. Oh, he didnt like me being way out in frt! I didnt say I was topped out or that he was topped out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I said we were topping past 135. my speedo stops, like most other s-10, at 85mph, but my shift in pcm is set to 130 to got to overdrive and mine had already shifted to overdrive when he backed off. I was just saying we were going over the top of 135, we could probably have gone to 140 or 150 or 160, the point was he lost and he knew it!!!! I dont care what a viper tops out at, i was way ahead and dont have a speed limiter, and i still had tcc that wasnt locked in yet!! so his top speed was a moot point dont you think??

all i know is that about 160mph... it\'s kinda hard to steer.... the front end seems like it lifts and just can\'t hold the road...
i\'ve got the stock suspension with a coil cut out and belltech drop blocks in the back...
i can crusie at 120mph all day and have no problems

if your truck can do 160mph.. chances are it wont accelerate fast enough to beat a viper!!!! unless of course you have about 600hp. i have a 700r and 3.08 or 2.92gears and according to police radar... (this one realy hurt) i was doing 283kmph.... which translates to about 160mph (rough calculation in my head maybe closer to 170) i was in a 80km/h zone so thats what? 3.5 times the speedlimit i ended up losing my lisence for a year then going to court after two months and winning it back (and i got out of the ticket too) but my point is there\'s no way i could keep up to a viper i clean mustangs but thats easy...

i\'m just curious how the trap speed is 10 mph faster when he spun and his time was a second slower??? it doesn\'t seem possible to me? i know when i spin my trap speeds way lower....

My S10 currently has a 408 in the works but with my 305 I had oit to 140 and up until then it was stable, but at 140 the front end lifted about 2 inches and $hit got crazy. I have 2 inch drop springs in the front and Southside Lift bars(not slappers) out back. My rear suspension has no give whatsoever. Sometimes its a little unforgiving too.
