engine weight ???

How much does a full dressed small block weigh? (carb intake ps, alt w/p ex manifolds)

Or if you know the weight of each item, than I can add them up.

Thanks I don\'t want to yank the motor out to put it on a scale.



Does moving the engine back really help traction that much?

blazers are heavy on the rear. in mine i moved the motor FORWARD as far as i could. Further than you can with the mount adapters and still have wheelie problems when i really try to step it up.

A buddy of mine had a first gen ext cab and moved the motor back 18 inches for weight transfer. had to cut the windshield even. his seat was in the extended cab part and the rest of the truck was stripped with no dash. all gauges on the roll cage and it was also back halved with a 9\" rear. truck flew with just 399hp.
