Just have to buy the early style brackets that were used on that type of setup. The brackets that bolt to the exhaust manifolds or headers. Which ever you have. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

The brackets you need were on a lot of the 60\'s model stuff------ mine came off a 66 impala 327- maybe if your local junkyard dont have em- you might find them somewhere on this electronic wizard----- DONT TRY TO DRILL YOUR HEADS.

Yeah, i\'ve heard of people having thier heads drilled at the local machine shop. They don\'t never seem to hold. It\'s not worth the trouble or the pain in the a$$, just by the brackets. It\'s a lot easier. My local autoparts doesn\'t have anything but the alternator arm, i have to order my f-bracket and header bracket from Jeg\'s or another speed shop. The parts store said they could order them for me, but they are twice as much through them. Heck, Jeg\'s ships for free. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

i never ran ac but I had camel hump heads without the holes and ran a long water pump. What I did for the alternator was just run a through bolt with anut for thehead mounted bolt and it held pretty solid for me and neverhad a problem.

Jeg\'s say they don\'t charge for shipping. But they charge a bulshit packing fee. I had to pay 15 dollers for a 5 doller part. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif

What I plan on doing when before I install mine are make the brackets.Make the piece to go from the 2 exhaust manifld bolts to the alt\'s spacer. Then weld them together to make one piece. Then cut 1/2 inch off the back of the spacer to put a nut and a lock washer. I will make this before I change the heads so the perfect belt alignment will still be.
Still thinking about the PS brackets. They sell a low mount kit for it for $70.00. I think the steering box might be in the way with it though. Might just go ahaed and make the bracket though. Go from the intake maniflod bolt to the lowest 2 bolt holes on the block near the balancer. Weld a nut to the bracket and bolt t on as if it were suppsed to be that way.
I will let you know how well it worked in a week or 2.

15...
Its actually 9.95 but summit charges the same. Heck, i always order a crap load of stuff at once and thats when it pays off! Plus i get it in 2 days.
Sucks when you buy BIG stuff though. I had to pay 89 extra for my hood BUT thats 50 bucks cheaper than ANYBODY.

if you have some scrap metal, a welder and a drill press, do like i did and make your own. just remember to measure, measure, measure, measure again, then build http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

if you still want double hump heads you can see about trading your heads for a set of 186 double humps. they are very similar to the 461 heads and they do have acc holes. many machine shops would still have the 186 heads. check and see.
the 461\'s and 46x heads are worth more than the 186 to someone doing a restore. so you may just buy the 186 and sell the others.
