i have been workin at a junkyard on the side .the boss is putting a turbo deisel 2.3 ford motor on his old tractor. he took off the blow off valve .he said a guy told him to unhook it http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Not real familer with turbos but if you unhook the blow off valve the turbo will contnue to create boost even after the trottle is realesed. I believe that will cause it to overpressurize and could creat lots of damaged parts.

thats what i told him
turbocharger systems do not all require blow off valves. a blow of valve has nothing to to with how much boost is created.... it simply re directs the boost away from the throttle body/carb. w/e is being used on the particular setup. 2 types of blow off valves type one releases boost into atmosphere common on most heavy boosted projects. second type is a recirculation valve. witch will route the boost back in front of the turbine wheel to keep it spooled. common on most oem setups. the only thing that will determine how much boost is created is the waste gate. not running a blow of valve can lead to compressor surge... thats the flow of boost back into the spinning turbine wheel on the intake side of the turbo that can be horrible especially under heavy boost over 10 psi.!!!
