I put raptors on my 350 (stock) in a full sized 79 4wd blazer and they were very quiet. The afterburners on my S10, mildly modified 355, are what I like. Slightly above normal at idle and medium loud at full throttle.

i had a pair of 2-1/2 raptors on my 78 ford with a 400. when i put them on there they were dead silent. after a month or so you could hear them. they were still quiet. they had a real mellow howel to them. if you could tach the motor fast they sounded really nice (they would sould like a flowmaster but lower pitched). the only time i got them to do that was in 4 low in the mud, sounded good though.
if they made them in 3\" i would get one for the burb but they dont. i rember paying around $18 each for them when i got them 6 years ago.
