Ok here what I want to do, I want to put a dana 44 from a jeep into the front and a full size picup in the rear so i know I have to remove all my front suspension. weres the best place to weld on the buckets for the front leaf springs? or does someone have a better solutuion to adding the axle? anyone here ever put a solid axle on the front of your truck and how and what was the best way of doing it? Thanks!

You should get a junked ZR2 and build one, that would be awesome!! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

I actualy want something a little beefier then a zr2 because I want a full axle in the front and want to go with duels in the back and run atleast a 35 inch tire with lots of ground clearance..

so far the best i have found is a kit to swap in a solid front axle but i cant remeber the name of the company. it was also really expensive.
But there is a site called:

there is a lot of axle swapping info on this site. it where i learned alo.
but let me see if i understand this correctly. your truck is 2wd now and youre gonna make it 4wd. No offense but thats alot of work.plus id rather have a 2wd truck anyhow.

Not really a lot of work I only need to make 4 plates for the front bucket and drill and weld a steel pipe in for the shackle in the rear. latch up the leaf springs add the dana 44 axle and setup steering. then upgrade the springs in the back and swap in the full size axle. figure out stabiloizers and shocks once thats complete I need to setup a 233 transfer case on my 700r4 and have a set of drive shafts made and viola! anything possible if you put your mind to it Im just looking for hints and tips.. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
