I just bought an 8.8 LSD with a 3.73 from a 94 Explorer, and I plan on doing either a 4-6 drop or a 2-4 drop for my 93 Sonoma. If I do the 4-6 drop, I plan on doing 2\" Spindles and 2\" Shocks in the front and 3\" Leafs and 3\" Blocks in the rear. If I decide to go with the 2-4 drop, I\'m going to do 2\" Spindles and 4\" Blocks. The question I have is, will I still be able to use the whole S10 Drop Kit, or will I have to mix and match an S10 kit for the front and Explorer kit for the rear? All help is very much appreciated. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

If you are gonna be putting much power to this rear----- go with rear springs--- not blocks.
i always hear this about blocks. Im not gonna say that you should run blocks or not. All im gonna say is mine has blocks in the rear and ive never had a problem nor do i know anyone else who has.

Ok well the engine is only a 307 .030 over with a cam...so probably not over 300 horse...but still, will I have to mix and match the lowering components for the Ford 8.8 rear end? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif

if you run blocks I suggest steel ones. I\'ve broke aluminum ones and ZZ4Blazer had a real mess when he broke a set of aluminum blocks.

Ditto...get steel ones. The extra money is well worth it. I need to get another set.

you should not have to mix parts. the only thing being use from theexploder is the rear assembly. all the mounts are s10

i dropped mine 6 in the back and changed to a 3\" drop. i guess 6 is cool if you like scaping everything. i used bell techs lowered leaf springs, plan on fixing the pinion angle alot w/ a 6\" drop

I have to agree with rayL, there are a bunch of real fast trucks on this forum that use blocks with no problems. as long as everything is tight and secure shoudn\'t have any trouble. Not a bad idea to make sure you have a real good set of U bolts. I went to my local heavy duty truck shop and had them make me some U bolts that are a lot stronger looking than the other ones that i have seen.

i know what your saying. some things work different for different people. i have had nothing but problems with blocks. so its a 50/50 situation. try the blocks 1st sence they are cheaper but if you have any signs of trouble i would switch to springs right away.
