We pulled the cover off my houseing last night and its geared 308 and the factory locker was bummed up. I called the salvage yard and he has a complete rear end out of a 97 S10 and dont really care about if it has a locker or not I have a mini spool I had ordered. My question is will it the complete rear end bolt up and if not can we pull the every thing out of the new one and put it in the old houseing. I guess I also need to know if the axle splines are different also.

I went to the salvage yard this evening and measured a 2000 S10 from inside hanger to inside hanger then outside hanger to outside hanger and it measured the same as my 92 so good news. Its a gt5 which is a 4.10 and he also had a gt4 which is a 3.73, think I will go with the 3.73. All the 4 door Blazers he has where a 3.42 which I think where gu3. I found out if you look in the glove box there are labels with a bunch of letters and number in order and the GT4 or GT5 etc etc are what there geared.

I see you mentioned blazers? if you have a 4x4 you need the same gears front and rear. you should be able to rebuild what you have and install new gears. just check tooth contact (pinion shim) with white grease and allow some backlash.
