Hi im 16 and just started on my first car (88 s10) 3 days ago i dont have the best situation because the interior is striped and the body has large dings but paid $0 so i cant complain. I know i can learn alot about bodywork from this project! right now the whole front is removed and the cab is sitting on stands above the chassis the engine is unbolted but i want to remove the cab totally before i pull it to make it easier. Then i will reomove the bed and start the body work and tubeframe chasssis CAD planing (im going to get some professional help for design). i am getting my 350 block worked to handle 800hp with all eagle forged parts. And building it with low compression 7.5-1 with high turbo boost from twin t4 turbos blowing into a air to air intercooler and water ijestion hoked up to a pressure sensor switch for when the bost kicks in to stop knock so i can drive it on pump gas then crank up the boost more when i have race fuel at the track.

To solve the traction problems ive heard about these are my plans.

This is my theory if i lighten up the front as much as possible the rear wili have more precentage of weight than the front, therefore the front will rise easier to put all the weight on the rear. So i plan to move the gass tank and battery to the very back behind the rear axle. And for the front i am buying the fiberglass front end, cut out the floorpan and make alluminum one and fiberglass doors made by me and a full tubeframe chassis made by me. i going to have either a 9\" or 12 bolt shortened and worked with a 4 link with a wishbone locator and i would like to have a fiberglass cab to but i dont think they make them does anyone know if i can get one or would i have to make one?

well then .....thats righ about 10000 or more .. my grandpa has a full tuge chassic car and he did everything and it stll costed him 30000 but it runs 9.70 with a 350 on achol....you can do what you want but hey if you have the money to even begin this big project why not just buy a nice body and put your new turbo motor in....i have seen this before some one makes big plans and 5 years down the road and 20000 later it still is not done so they did mad or lose instrent...my idea wiould be a nice truck with a nice paint jog a nice roll cage and a 9in rearend and a nice motor....thas just me ...any way do what you want and i\'ll see you in about 4 years or so lol.lol...lol http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

hmm well i plan on finishing my swap for under 1,000. actually itll probably go over that if i end up getting a new venture transmission but the engine itself i got for $150 freshly built crate short block, heads $400 plus a few misc parts to make it go in. im hoping things will work out right (and cheap) but we will see...

The worst thing you can say if you are on a budget is \"If I\'m going to do it, I might as well do it right.\" This saying has probably cost me $10000 easily on my Blazer alone.

i know that most people on here dont have money running out there butt holes ...and we all like to have a fast truck ...well let me say this.. at first i had a 300 motor and tranny and a few other parts for a total of about 1000 dollars and it would not run for the life of me ...so back to the drawing board i went....and now i have a 2500.00 motor and a 400.00 tranny with 300.00 worth of gears and 300 worth of converter and now it runs like i want it to...simpley put if you spend a little than the truck just will not run ..altough i have seen some people run fast with crap ..it just doest happen often...so dont get in a hurry and save a little money and get a good motor and tranny and gears and im telling you now that you will be much happier with the truck in the long run http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif but as always it;s your truck and you can do what you want to...i would have saved a lot of money and time and hurt fingers and crap if i would have know about this web site before i did my truck...listen to the people that has already did a v8 truck and you will learn a bunch...have fun

You got alot of ambition kid, save your money, go to college and get a good job then build your toys..financally its alot easier. Takes along time to build something like that. Beware...toys are never done.

thats some good advise a friend of mine dropped out of auto tech school to \"build his car\" guess what now he makes 1/2 the money he could have as a auto tech and doesn\'t even have his car any more no cool cars at all!!!!! i\'m 24 out of tech school for 5 years and still can afford to build what i want i did my v8s10 for about $1200. and alot of wheeling and dealing

build your truck but also think of the future
