I am contemplating hedman husslers over the stahl headers because of price. Jerry Stahl, I think, from Stahl headers recomended 2\" tubes for me if I am going to spray most of the time. And I am considering a head upgrade next year to the new track 1\'s or dart 215\"s. For now I will be running my Edelbrock RPM heads. 383, 13.3:1, 6\" rods, Herbert solid roller 256,268-.604-.604-106 LSA, light weight crank, powerglide, TCI 8\" convertor, 4.56 gears. I do want to be able to run good on motor, and I think the 2\" tubes will hurt me without spray. What yall think. I was kinda leaning to the 1 7/8 husslers.

My point of view says 1 7/8-- will do you good all around.
I hear this alot, I want it to run good on motor, if your spraying who cares... Are you gonna spray it MOST the time. If so build towards nitrous, if not build it towards motor. The camshaft you have is a motor cam. As far as 2\" versus 1 7/8s... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/wtf.gif small tube picks up the bottom torque some, big tubes for horsepower. If it was mine, id run 2\".

WOW are you running 2 1/4 on a SBC? I\'m hoping you are refering to you exhaust pipes and not your header tubes.

1 7/8\" here....wouldnt change my huslers for nothing. My friends said, \"AH, thats overkill\" and then i proceeded to run quicker times and beat them bad. Hmmm Overkill huh? They have way more motor than me but they are stuck on the 1 5/8 headers and they claim any more and its overkill. Whos whining now!
Seriously though...they have close to 9k in there motors...its halerious!

Do the Husslers have a different flange pattern such as Stahl? If so, do I have to buy the flange adapters or do they come with them? And do they work well with regular length gasket seat plugs like Champion race plugs or autolite race plugs?

They come with the adapter plates and i have plenty of room with regular plugs. I have double humps on my setup and i have 0 problems changing plugs.

Welp, I ordered the 2\" primary tube Husslers. I figured I\'d get me some boots I can grow into. I might not need them now. But if I go with a bigger set of heads and with NOS I will turn more RPMs so I will need them more then. I ain\'t in the practice of buying too many sets of $600 headers. I figure ga ahead and buy what I\'ll probably end up with anyway. Got Me some Lakewood 90/10 shocks and Moroso 47130 trick springs on order too. So maybe when I hit the NOS I will have some more weight transfer. I will definetely need it.

Man, was anyone else disappointed with the adapter plates with the Hussler headers? There\'s a damn country mile worth of metal to remove from the exhaust port openings in the adapter flanges. Why would they make such a small hole in the adapters? I know you want enough material there to shape them to your exhaust ports but my God, they\'re tighter than a squirrels ear! Other than that they are a BIG HONKING SET OF HEADERS. I would guess you could drop golf balls down the tubes and have plenty of room to spare.

My friend had some plates that were ported a lil more but there werent big enough for my heads. It was cheaper for me to get them fixed up rather than the ones hedman sent cuz there was less material to remove. Luckily one of my friends has a machine shop so he made a template with my gasket and port matched them. Cost me 20 bucks and got them back the next day. I also had to remove material where a couple of head bolt heads were located. I used a chop saw then!
i didnt wanna jack with them so it was worth 20 bucks. They sent some good gaskets to but wonder where i can get new ones just like them?
