do the headmen shorty headers bolt up to the stock y pipe on a 92 ext cab 2.8 s-10 with a 350? and if the muffler shop has to build one can they build it so it stays up above the frame so it wont drag on the ground? thanks joe
I believe some modification will need to be done, and yes a shop should be able to keep the pipes above the frame.

a 350 is much wider than a 2.8 .so you\'re factory y pipe would need to be modified or custom one made. i ran my pipes above the crossmember close fit with 2.5 pipe but any good shop should be able to

your best bet is to yank out the v6 y pipe completely and build a new one should not be more than $85.00 for thm to build a new y-pipe..

i was looking into the y-pipe idea but once i got to the muffler shop and they showed me how easy and cheap it was to run duells side by side i was sold on the idea; the only added expense was the second cat, http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

not to be picky buy you can run a o2 sensor in just one pipe you don\'t need a ay pipe but with a ypipe you will get a better reading of the engine over allso y pipe better reading but not needed

MY BAD !!!!!!!!!when i did my swap i had true duals,i work at a muffler shop part time.fired the truck up with my new 350/tbi and it ran funny,no cam etc. it ran on the rich side so 3 days of messin around lookin for the problem,we narrowed it down to one side running rich ,so we made a y- pipe and now it runs muuuccchhh better!!!!!!!could have been a freak thing....
