eng & tran removal

have 83 ext cab 2.8 auto 2wd can i remove eng & tran as 1 unit,if not do i have to lift body to get at tran bolts or can i remove body completely off chassis with eng/tran still bolted in.

Most recommended method remove front clip of truck ie rad support and fenders lights, bumper etc then pull motor and trans as one unit.



make sure to drain your trans or cap the axle shaft or you\'ll get stinky trans fluid everywere.

yep the easy way is to remove the front clip but if you want to remove them seperatly remove the trans crossmember and lower the trans down to get easy accese to the bellhousing bolts
