help with fuel cell to reg. tank

Hey guy\'s I bought a s10 truck and its not really set up for the street i want to drive it on the street say one day a week but it has a fuel cell. How hard is it to put the old tank back on? Any help I would appricaite this thing is crazy fast and I would love to get it a little more street legal. 12.09 on just motor no spray at state capital she still had more in her that was the only pass I made.

it can be street legal w/ a fuel cell, that doesnt make it not street legal. if you dont want it seen just but a bed cover. they only go for $150. if u have a fuel cell chances are its in the very back of the bed. p/u\'s have the real gas tank on the drivers side front of bed. then u will most likely hafta relocate the pump and i think make a sump in the original gas tank. too much hassle if u ask me.

I actually put a cell in my mainly-street truck for traction purposes - and to fix some fuel delivery problems I was having. It made a big difference over the stock tank.

If it\'s capacity you\'re looking for, shift over the existing cell and add a second, larger cell for the street. That way you can have \"race gas\", and \"street gas\" if that\'s any advantage. Or if not an advantage, just replace your cell with a larger one.

............ Because, if you look at where the stock tank sits, the previous owner probably used that area for other components, like exhaust maybe?

2nd off your fuel cell is not breaking any laws so therefore its legal.



3rd....my truck is street legal and i drive it. 7.40\'s 1/8 mile and i can putt it through a drive through. Ride around on the drag etc. Just gotta watch the temps http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif Mine is only an 8 gallon fuel cell so yeah...ive been stranded a few times!



oh and OTHCUSTOMS, where can your buy a bedcover for $150 bucks? Im kinda curious.

I didn\'t see where he said anything about it being illegal, but...



Anyway, I agree with the above statements in saying that it is more trouble than it is worth. I just went the OTHER direction, adding a 20-gallon cell to the back of the bed. It sits about 40% above bed level and 60% below. I think it is going to be very streetable.



However, give us some insight on why you don\'t feel it is streetable!!!!



Also, I have a 13-gallon side mount tank with straps for sale if you are interested. Also have an LT1 in-tank fuel pump for sale to go with it.
