I just bought a set of Moroso Trick springs for my 96S10. I selected one that fits a G-body car (47200). The OD of the spring is 5\" (uncompressed, out of truck). The OD of the stock spring is 5-1/2\" (compressed, still in truck). Do you think that the 5\" springs will increase in diameter as it\'s compressed? Is it OK to use the 5\" diameter springs?

I have the trick springs. I didn\'t measure them but the wire diameter is smaller so the total spring diameter is going to be smaller. the only thing to worry about is if it fits the upper pocket and the lower pocket. the s-10 and mid 80\'s rear wheel drive g bodies use the same susp. so you should be fine.

silver_82,

I wanted to ask first before taking off the stock springs since I know it\'s a PITA to put back. Well, I went ahead and took it off and tried fitting the trick springs. It\'s too small. It doesn\'t fit the upper arm at all and it wobbles on the lower. From your nickname it looks like you have a 1st gen truck. Mines a 2nd gen. The stock springs are 5-1/2\"OD and 4-1/4\" ID.

Anybody know which trick springs fit a 2nd gen. truck?
