i have a 89 s10. with a turbo 350 trans. went to the track and twisted my driveshaft into out of the water box. but i was wondering if anyone out there could tell me if the driveshaft was stock. i think the truck was a 4 cyl. to begin with or if a stock one will work.. thanks

I went to the wrecking yard, picked one up off of a 80\'s chev p/u and had a couple inches taken out, cost a little cash but the guy that rebuilt it said it\'ll take 550 - 600 hp, we\'ll see. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

Brettp120, if you\'re asking about the length, that\'s anybody\'s guess. A GOOD guess would be that a stock shaft would work. Just make sure the finished product is in the trans the proper amount.

......... But since you did twist it up, Like Gottago said, You might want to think about a beefier shaft anyway.

Here is another possible solution. Denny\'s (http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/) driveshafts are custom for your application and guaranteed not to twist or break. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

an 1-1/4 is not even close to be safe the yoke is 5\" you should have 3.5-4\" in the tailshaft

Yes, Rudedogg is right. Only that much in is scary, easy to twist the output shaft, and make the shaft whip around and vibrate. And I\'ve got to wonder if the original shaft was only in that much, if that wasn\'t a factor in the shaft twisting up. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

I have to agree with melonhead.... denny\'s driveshaft is the way to go... all you have to do is call these guys and listen to the questions that they ask you to know that they know their business.... I had them make one for mine after I twisted one that was built locally.... they made the shaft, put the GM front yoke on and the rear piece for the ford 8.8, balanced everything and guaranteed it not to twist or break..... shipped to the house from N.Y. to east Tennessee the total was 352.50.
