95 sss10 rear end

I have found rear end out of 95ss/s10 truck. It is a 3:42 ratio, did this truck come with posi. Would like to put under my 87 extcab v8 truck. I have opened it up and it looks strange to me.I have done 12bolt posi before and this does not look like it. I\'m not sure of the specs of that rear end but it should be able to holdup to a mild or a somewhat fixed up sbc.

does it have springs inside the carrier that push on plates? if so it\'s a limited slip, otherwise all you will see is the side gears and spiders, ring and pinion and it\'s an open diff,

i think all of the ss s10s came wit a g80 posi....... im not sure but its not a true posi its LSD.........

I think this is correct that it is a posi. It is just set up different than the older 12 bolt type. I see clutchs and some kind of springs that run across the the open part of housing. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

i got a 1994 ss s-10 and mines 3.42 limited slip this info here is str8 from a ss s-10 web site it reads ...





In 94 and 95, the SS came with 15\" cast aluminum wheels, and chrome center caps and red bowties. SS badging and fog lamps were standard equipment as well. The rear-end was a 3.42 limited slip gear.
