Thats why its best to pull the diff cover to actually check whats in there \'cause it could even have a different set of gears too!

if you are positive there is no posi in there its usually a sign of incoming failure. the cross shaft that holds the spider gears slowly gets ground away you do burnouts and what not. its starts to become more of a pencil shaped at the ends. this allows the spider gears to become crocked of there normal position, wedging them against the side gears. under torque like you see it acts like a posi. they can only take so much before the very fragile spider gears fail.



when you are not under power like when you are turning or normal driving they wont wedge and lock.
