Is there anything for leaky gas tanks like there is for leaky radiators? Like Bars Stop Leak for gas tanks.

I haven\'t seen anything that you pour into the tank, but there are some two-part claylike / epoxy things you can pick up. You smash the two colors together and then put the mix on the leak. I\'ve seen it work sometimes and not work others, but for the couple of bucks it\'s worth trying.

Surface prep is critical to the epoxy bonding to the metal. You need to clean it till it is shinny and rough up the surface. And drain the tank. If fuel is leaking when you put the epoxy on, it will not stick good.

I\'ve had really good luck with that epoxy putty. I would NEVER trust it long term, but as a quick fix to hold you over till you have the time or money to fix the tank, the stuff is a lifesaver. I\'ve already patched up leaky fuel lines and a gas tank that was rotted beyond belief.

I have used some products with great success. I had a fat hole in the tank of my 4x4 S-10 from going over a rock. I bought some JB STIK and it sealed it awesome and permanent. It says it\'s good for gas tanks as well, the gas wont eat through it. There\'s another one I used too I just cant remember the name of it.

I used that JB Stik for the hole I put in my power steering reservoir. It\'s worked pretty well.

This is for a 70\'s chevy truck with the gas tank behind the seat...Replaced the fuel line hose but still gas keeps getting out (off or running) and can\'t seem to track down the source or sources. Thanks for your guys\' input!
