you need a fuel prseeure regulator inbetween the pump and carb no biggie. got to have to have it carbs only need 5-7

A Holley red should be self regulated. You don\'t typically need a regulator with a red. When you step up to a blue you need to add a regulator. Hey, if it is pumping o.k. and not surging I would just add a regulator and keep it about 7 psi. Maybe its time for another pump, but if you got a good filter in between the pump and regulator I would continue to use it If you don\'t mind adding a regulator.

i had a holley red with no regulator. the pressure in the pump is controled by a spring. different color springs i beleive is what pressure it is set at. you can also buy a rebuild kit for it for less than $40 on jegs or summit. i think i got mine at autozone. only takes maybe a half hour to rebuild it.
