I wanna run some 50/50 lakewoods outback. anybody know a part number that will work? jegs doesnt list them for a s10. my truck is a \'86 it lowered 2 1/2 to 3 inches my buddie said shocks would help its bottoming out on launch(hooking hard) but about ten feet out he said he can see me spinning again. says it shouldnt compelety bottom out. I can feel it when I sit on the tail gate you can bounce it and it hits very easy. Im not gonna spend a ton a suspenion work yet so shocks seem to be the cheapest thing to try . any part numbers would be great

How did you lower it? If you took to much spring out an adjustable shock will help a little but it won\'t be enough to control a spring that is way to weak. If it is bottoming out, you need to stiffen your springs. This will cause the rear of the truck (body) to raise and plant the axle towards the ground. It sounds backwards, but you do not want the rear of the truck to squat, you want it to raise up. Mine was doing the same thing. Took Ray\'s advice, stiffened up the rear and living happily ever after.

heres a silly question... are you hitting the bumpstops. Reason i ask is to bottom out the shock you just about have to have the axle on the ground by pushing down on the rear. Been there tried it...

Good news. Sounds like what I was going through when I was running 7.20-7.30. I was finally hooking decent. Then I would feel a thud and a little ways out it would buck or spin hard. What I think is happening to your truck is your hitting the rubber bump stops over the axle. Then it\'s unloading your suspension and spinning after it rolls out.

What I did to correct mine, I put a good set of stock shocks on the back. I took off the bump stops. There are metal brackets that hold the rubber stops in place. After I twisted the rubber bumpers out I cut the brackets off with the torch. You probably don\'t have to do this if your truck isn\'t lowered more than 3 inches. I also sprayed my fuel line with hot sparks from the torch and could have blown up my house and my truck. Some of the hot sparks sunk into the rubber (cheap ass) fuel line. Anyway, enuff about that.

Then I preloaded my slapper bars a little more to get the suspension to raise the back of the truck on launch. Wen\'t to low 7.10\'s and sometimes 7.08-7.09 with a 1.55-1.56 60ft.

Since then I have started a major redoo. But one thing I would have liked to have tried before I started this was to remove the front sway bar to give the front end some more travel and lift. I think I could have gotten 2 or 3 more numbers off easy.
