On my 350 I have a stock manafold and carb. I bought the truck with the engine in it already. I really dont have the money to buy a new manafold and carb so I am just gonna leave the one on ther for now. Here is the problem. I put the truck in first gear and let of the clutch, while not giving it any gas and I start to roll, I have driven stick before and knew this wasnt right. so I try it in second gear, just to see if it would do it again. well what do you know, it did. also in reverse it dose this. I am thinking the carb is running to rich (or so i was told) how would i make it more lean? or is it something else? it has and electric choke if that has anything to do with it.

sorry im a little confused by your post
your truck moves with the clutch pedal in?
that would be a clutch that is either out of adjustment or if its hydralic the slave clyinder my be bad so the clutch can not fully disengauge from the flywheel

Sorry if it is too hard to understand.
I can have it in second gear with the clutch all the way out and i will not stall. just roll along the road

why isn;lt that right?
i could do that with my mustabng all the time, you have to remember it has gobs of low end torque with that v8 in it and it hardly weighs anything, with the combination of a light truck and lots of torque you should be able to take off without touching the gas, you shouldn;t have to rev it just to take off... i can do it in just about any standard vehicle without touching the gas, i could do it in my old slant six dodge with a 4 speed, even in second gear i could do it in my msutang and the dodge too, so it should be fine.. .pull the plugs out and check for a lean condition, the pklugs will tell all, even if it\'s set properly you\'ll still bne able to pull away without touching the gas

Yeah even saw stacy on Trucks! tv show with that green jeep he put it on a hill; took his foot of the clutch and hung his legs out the door and the dang truck climbed the hill and didn\'t stall that was kewl. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
lopts o torque very little wait or low gears no need gas to go in my opinion thats a better setup! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

lol, yeah thats normal. Infact, if anything it\'s good. The only time I\'d be worried about carb settings is if it idles too fast, it blows black smoke when you drive, or if it has a rough time starting or it seems to flood easily.
by the way, what kind of manual transmission are you using?
