if there was a company out there that made a direct fit NO modifactions required turbo kit for a v8 s10 and priced fair like all these companies have for these imports how many of you would give it a serious thought?

I would keep it in mind, then when my engine is too slow, I would look it up and save for it.

i think i might soon enough? just wanted some feed back of what people really thought. to just order a kit and it comes to you ready to bolt on would be nice. twin, single duel exhaust single exhaust so on and so on. JUST like the do for the imports.

You can hardly buy a motor mount kit without having to modify something. I don't know how the heck you would do a turbo kit. It would be nice... But I think it would have to be a complete kit, as in every item for the v8 swap would have to be included also. otherwise there are to many variables.

I agree with grim. Everyones swap is so different I don't know how you could do it without modification. Things like motor position, radiator used, transmission used, etc. will all cause big problems with a standardized kit unless the kit allowed for modification. Perhaps one way to do it would be selling the basic piping in the bends that are needed along with the headers w/ collectors, cross pipe, turbo, bonnet, etc. and having it a "you assemble" package where the piping could be cut or modded a little bit before a person welds it all together. Even then there could be problems, but it would get you started with the right parts for the project.

as long as all the motors were using the same mounts all the other stuff could just be altered by the user. nothing real major there. i would definitly be interested in one if it were availible.

i had a 200-4r in my blazer. a freind had a 400 in his truck i have a 350 in my truck and i helped put a 700 in some one elses truck. and to run headers and 2 1/2" or bigger pipe all the ears on all the transmissions had to be cut so im not thinking that will be a problem. when i say complete i mean down pipes exhaust and all. even with the motor in the forward or all the way back position with a little extra lenght on the tubes they will fit. and there wouldnt be a collector there to fight. mounts wouldnt create any kind of problems. the way i am looking at it the only thing that MAY need to be done is remove the inner fender wells. but i am still waiting on the welder to see what can be done because i cant weld for S***

hey z, when i had my 350/350th in my blue truck, i didn't have to cut the ears off the tranny. i didn't have the s10 bible to go by, so i might have done something wrong though? hey how's the a/c in the truck doing?

Somthing I 'm going to serously consider down the road when I get some money is a remote mounted twin turbo setup under the bed befor the mufflers, each turbo will have a 2 and 1/2 inch pipe out and wastegate to a tri collector, from the tri collector a single 3 inch pipe to a small intercooler to the intake plentum.

depends on what kind of turbo your using my cuzin put a 88mm turbonetics turbo
[told me 6500$] on his lt1 camaro hes just got it rebuilt from leaning it out and melting the valves from a cheap knockoff. he went from a 6lb boost to 8lb and went from 768hp to 839hp hes running a 5inch exhaust no muffler it sounds like a cammed out lt1 total sleeper.
if its a standard kit like chepos on ebay id say anywere from 1$k-3$k depending on the turbo

if i was installing a turbo i would look for a kit. let somebody else do the hardwork usually is cheaper and has been proven to work. even if you do have to make adjustment to make fit perfect.

Dislexia, LOL try www.ststurbo.com I've been looking into it. I would like a turbo kit that mounts outside the engine bay, you can only cram so much in the S10 bay and remotes would do away with the intercooler. :hammer:
