So I finally got to the track yesterday... first time out this season. Last year I was having traction issues, so I picked up some M/T ET Drags 28x10.5x15. Boy do these things hook!

Anyways, I'm still trying to get my motor tuned in but I met my goal for the night, which was to break 12's. First run I had no idea what these tires were going to do. I did a tame launch at 2500rpms and it stuck and went, but was a dog on the top end. I adjusted the timing a bit and lined back up. This time I launched at 3000rpms and it hooked again and pulled 1.7 short time and went 12.9. Third run I decided to up the ante a little and brought it up to 4000rpms at the line and dumped the clutch... BAM she stuck and went with the front end pulling (didn't quite get a tire off the ground) but improved the 60' a little more (almost broke into 1.6's) and came to a 12.8. My final run I decided to concentrate on hitting the tree but I didn't clean my tires enough so it spun off the line at 1.8 60', but still managed my quickest time of the day which was low 12.8 @ 105 probably due to more timing adjustment inbetween runs. Anyways I'm really happy to be going in the right direction.

A few notes... first of all, these tires are AMAZING, but this is coming from someone who has not been able to get his truck to hook, it feels awesome! Second of all, driving a stick on the strip is tricky and may take a little more practice for my launching. I'm not sure at what point my clutch is going to start slipping but I'm launching at 4000rpms+ now (probably 4500 next time) so I guess time will tell. And third, I can't wait to get this motor tuned in... my timing is still a little off and the carb is having issues but shes done ok so far. Hoping to hit ~12.5ish at around 107mph next time. Not bad for a 305 headed stock displacement 350 w/ a small cam.

I'm happy! Cheers!

Best time and mph

K- I'm running the same rearend (8.8) and same tire 28x10.5x15. I will be ordering new rims to finish my rolling chassis next week. What is the max backspace I could run to make my tires tuck a little more?? I'd lke them NOT to stick out that much. what do you think

about 5.5" on a 10" rim? 5.5" on a 8" rim?? How about 6" on a 10" rim?? ZR1 / GRIM / RAY

/MZOOM What do you guys think?? Thanks!

James, you will need to run a LOT on a 10" rim. I'm using a 10" rim and about 6" BS (maybe 6.5, ill have to double check that) and it still sticks out a bit. You could potentially run 7"+BS on a 10" rim if you can find one. I would recommend sticking with an 8" rim which would fit the 10.5 slicks fine and get it in maybe 5-5.5" BS. Not sure what options you have available to you. I know of a left handers shop in the area that will stamp steel wheels in any BS you want for cheap. I'll try to get some pictures up this weekend showing what mine looks like and ill do a little meausuring to see if i can figure out what kind of BS you might want to run.

Thanks for the quick response! I would love to see some pics down the side of the truck,so I can see how they stick out. I want to get it right the first time! My original thought was an

8" rim with 5.5" backspace,and 28x10.5x15 E.T

Drags. I can order that from Weld w/no problem. Again- thanks for your help! Anyone else run this set-up with a stock width 8.8??
