I'm on board with your search too. I'm looking for a good, in-line filter.
fool filter heh (http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_745033_-1_10293)
This is what i use along with the bg400 pump. I looked for a cheaper alternative but they just wouldnt flow what i needed. Its smallish but has 1/2 inlet/outlet to FLOW

holley makes a cylinder style that works very well and is a little cheaper.
you could run 1/2" aluminum fuel line with compression fittings. would be a lot cheaper than AN fittings and braided line. there's also a lot of flow resistance and pressure drop inside rubber hose. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
