I'm having some issues with my 2002 S10. Here's whats going on. I went to install a new CD Player the other day. Of course while doing this, I bumped 2 wires together and blew a fuse. I replaced the fuse no problem, but now when I turn on my headlights, I've got no dash lights, and the chime doesn't come on when I leave the headlights on with the ignition off. I couldn't find any more blown fuses, so I screwed around with it some more. I found that if I turn the dimmer dial up to get the dome light to come on, the interior lights now come on and the chime will work when I turn the ignition off with the headlights on. I don't know what this could be. I looked at EVERY fuse in the dash and they are all good. Any ideas?

did you pull anything loose? If you put the old cd player back in does everything work fine? I know that sounds counter productive but maybe there is a crossed wire or loose wire in the wiring harness. Just a guess.

No, I thought the same thing. I tried putting the stock radio back in, no change. I checked the plugs at the lighting switches and they look good, even gave each one of them a pull and they aren't loose. This one's got me good http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

ok, when you roll the dimmer switch all the way up you are lowering the resistance in the circuit (im still learning electronics, bear with me...) So that might stand to reason that there is a LOT or resistance somewhere else in the circuit.
The only wires that might be intertwined with the light circuit is the accessory wire and dimmer wire(if so equipped). I know the acc is a tan wire on the 1st gens....check the hanes manual or autozone.com to see what color yours is.
I may just be re hashing what you have already done, but i know anything will help at this point.
