newer engines?

is there any difference wih the 2001,2002 4.3 engines compared to the other vortecs back to 96?

also any differences in the trannies from say 94 to 2002, as long as they are 4l60E\'s are they interchangable.



I currently have 94 4.3 with 4L60E and i can get an outstanding deal on a 2002 engine (because my buddy totalled it) with low miles tranny and engine and all wiring and computer. If i get the engine will the accesories fit off the 2002 4.3 onto a a newer vortec and if so what year.



Im looking at swapping out the tranny first because it is dieing fast, then later on this summer putting a 350 vortec in or posibly an LT1.



thats what this is all about



Will an Lt1 bolt up to my 4L60E , if not what would need to be changed.

as for your buddies truck, my condolences but your gain. scoop up the engine tranny wiring harness and computer and anything else that looks good and store it somewhere till you need it it will all be interchangeable and when you replace your old components get them rebuilt and sell or keep them. the lt1 will bolt right up to a 4L60-E and the front drive accesories on the 5.7 should be identical too.
