What would give me that extra hp I need I went on holley.com and they claim a manual secondaires wouldnt work with my setup. with the cam, gear, converter and weight I have what you all think oh ya its a 406 with old stock lt1 2.02's, 3.42 gear, mild .500 cam

What rpm is your HP peak? What is your trap speed? Stall speed?

Put some 3.73's in it and you'll be running 12.7 to 13.0's. If you had a 650 double pumper, it would work pretty good also. Just 'cause holley says it won't work doesn't mean it won't, in my expierence a double pumper always seems to work better.

And 60 ft. time? Have you played with the secondary springs? Sometimes there's a lot to be found there, especially with something light like the S-10.
.......... And yeah, gears normally help. Regarding double pumper vs. vacuum secondary, I've run in the 11s with a vacuum secondary 750. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif And I'm sure others have done much better than that.

it does have only a 3.42 but Im not changing the gear until that 7.5 pops and I put the 9 inch in. the truck stalls to about 2600, it pulls to 5500rpm and shes done it 60 ft's 1.82 on a drag radial that probably the best shell do I cant bring it up much higher than like 2200 on that drag radial ot theyre up in smoke. I know a slick should do it but I m not ready to pop that rearend not ready to dump the cash on a rearend yet. and ya I know "my buddies got a truck running 11's with with a 7.5" but it aint gonna last see them break all the time at the track. What size drag radial? As long as it isnt taller than 26" it should be fine and the gear probably isnt hurting you that much. My Z28 leaves pretty hard with a 7.6, but I dont expect it to last long. My S10 run good with a 7.5 for many years and did easy 12's and a lot of passes. I do know a couple of guys that have run 10's also. That 60ft is horrible, but their is room for improvement. If the thing traps 105 or better there is a 12 in it fairly easily, 108 will usually get you a mid 12.
Come to Rt66 on tuesday and lets see it run. I will probalbly be there.

You can use a 650 to 750dp. Go ahead and buy you a set of pump cams and grab all the squirters you can find. I'd install the pink pump cams in the #2 position. That should give you the most pump squirt. Then for squirters I'd start with maybe 31 to 35s in the front and 35 to 40s in the back. You also need to check your vacuum and make sure you get the correct size power valve. If you block the power valve, remember to go up about 6 to 8 sizes on the jets.
For your initial jet sizes I'd recommend 70s in the front and 76s in the back.
You also might want to step up just a little on the converter.

That is a pretty dang good 60' for a 13 second ride. 12.90's shouldn't be that hard with that 60'. My best 60' is 1.58 with a low 11 sec truck.
I would wait until fall and the weather cools off. Bring some jets to the track. Make a couple baseline runs and start jetting up a little and see if she will break into the 12's. If the MPH starts to fall off when you jet up, then jet down. Either way you should be able to pick up a tenth with jetting easy. The Avenger carbs are good street carbs, but no carb has the prefect jets in it from the factory for every motor.

mzoomoora I was there last tuesday and I WILL NEVER RUN THERE AGAIN PERIOD!! Gates opened at 4 I got there at 5 waited over an hour in the the tech line which was a mile long then there was the staging lanes as soon as I got in line they stamped my ticket said " no more than 3 runs" well I only did 2 got there at 5 left at 9:30 and got 2 freakin runs, the best part was you get in at the main gate and pay 15$ then once you pass tech its another 25. 40 bucks to run and no B.S guys just left there car and went watched for awhile would come back and check your staging lane. So many guys were complaing wanting refunds you name it. very poorly organzied they let to many cars in. this isnt the first time this has happened so IM done with that place.
