I have a stock 85 model 350 out of an impala. I am working on putting that in my 87 s-10. I was thinking about buying one of the power packs from edelbrock. I plan on a 30 over bore, stock heads, and not sure what pistons to get either. Should i go with the performer series or the rpm series. I plan to buy the carb, cam, lifters, and intake. Also does anyone know what size carb comes in the kits ( 2 barrel or 4), what cfm? Any help would be appreciated. Also what pistons do you think i shoud go with?

well thats a tough one, the thing that you will need to know is what you want out of the motor. if you want a close to stock motor, keep with the performer series, that has a 4 barrel 600cfm carb, then if ya want to get into some serious street performance, get the RPM series! the cam lifters and intake will make decent hp with cast heads, but you can always get the RPM heads later. now the thing is the RPM package used a 4 barrel 750cfm, so you will need to choose between the two. personally i would go with the RPM package, it will really wake that motor up. they came out with a RPM roller cam that would make even more power. i just bought the RPM heads RPM airgap intake and am tryin to find the RPM roller cam and lifters..... they are hard to get a hold of. but its up to what you want to do with the truck. o and also, the tranny will change what ya want to go with too, the performer setup will work with the stock stall convertor, the RPM they recomend a 2500 rpm stall. if ya want, i got a cam and lifters and pushrods and heads and intake if ya want... its a performer intake and the heads are ported 1.94 valve heads, the cam is a 270H comp cam, it is the biggest cam you can use with a stock convertor. its actually bigger than the performer cam. they all have like 1000 miles on them. send me an email Zaccherak@wit.edu
