I looked on the web and couldn't find a straight answer. Question. Do the Ford 8.8 rear ends use C-clips to hold the axles in or do they bolt up @ the ends like a 9?

Like everyone said, they do use them. So far I don't make enough power to worry about breaking an axle... but i have some dirty plans in the works right now so eventually i will be adding c-clip eliminators.

If you're really worried id suggest getting the c-clip eliminators. The 9in is great being designed around that, but there's also a tradeoff in drivetrain loss the 9er is a lot heavier inside and out.

cant you put 9" ends on the 8.8 housing??? That would be a better setup tan the c clip eliminators. Them things leak horribly.
