ok here is the question, i just got the performer rpm heads and air gap rpm intake, should i get the rpm roller cam and roller lifters? the cam and lifters alone are like $500 and then i think i have to get different pushrods. is it worth the money, or should i just spend 169 on the rpm flat tappet cam and lifter kit? how much more hp can i expect with the roller cam?
solid rollers always produce more power than a flat tappet you can run a hge cam with roller like up to .700 lift.

you can only run up to .7 if you have the proper psiton to valve clearance and have valvesprings to handle it, there won;t be a wole lot hp increase with the roller, you\'ll see a significant gain in torque and better durability, but for the price of them it\'s really exensive, i\'d just go with a flat tappet cam if you want high hpo you can even get solid flat tappet cams, i have one in my 51 pontiac and it makes crazy power, i\'m probably close to 500hp with e-tec 200\'s and a cam with about .560 lift and 1.6 rockers it works out to about .600\" lift, what i would do is get about a .470 lift cam and some 1.6 rockers, great street combo, you\'l still have a decent idle and good manifold vacume, just a suggestion, thats wha i did on the new motor in my s-10

yeah, i do have a magnum 270H in my motor now, and i just bought the RPM heads and intake to match. i figured that while i have the motor apart again i would go ahead and put a new cam in her too. i really wanted to keep with the whole rpm package, that way i know what i am makin for hp and everything matches. they just came out with the roller rpm cam and i was thinking about getting it but i would have to get the springs, lifters, and since i have 1.6 roller rockers, i would have to get rockers too. so i am thinkin that i am just gonna get the RPM cam and keep my rockers....... that cam kit is only $170 and makes 420 hp with the rpm kit..... and 418 ft/lbs of torque.....
