I am in the middle of doing the same thing and all you have to do is find the wires coming out of the fire wall for the gauges and hook them up to their sending units which you will most likely have to put in the motor because it probably doesn't have any in it now. You can use the same ones that were on the motor that came in the truck. This diagram will help with finding the wires Wiring (http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/12/41/a3/0900823d801241a3/repairInfoPages.htm)
it should be figure 6 but you will have to make sure for your application.

i found the right wires, just hooked 12 volts onti the end of each and wtched what gauge jumped but i just have to find the right sending units that fit into a 350 and made for those wires.

Well good you got the hard part done, finding the wires. I can't find the wire for the temp gauge. Was your close to the oil psi. wire.

um, cant really remember. just make sure the truck has ground then get someone in the truck to watch the gauges then get another battery and run a piece of wire off of it and touch into the ends of the wires and see which gauges move. if a gauge doesnt move then trace it to where it came from and make sure its not broke or anything and if its not then i cut it.
I have an 01 s-10 that I am going to install a 350 with the edelbrock injection on. Is it easier to put in after market gauges or try to get the factory ones to work.
Also on a side note Checker auto has a huge catalog with many brand name parts and I was told they will beat any price by 5% this includes what you find on the internet, all you need is to show them the proof. I have been buying some items from them, so far so good. The catalog is 5.99. I save money and they pay for the shipping
