View Full Version : Race Recap
Well last night we ran our last "Mean Street" race of the year. For those that dont know its a 6.20 index race for stock suspension cars ran at one of my local tracks. For the last race of the year it was decided to run all out no index. The Blazer was low qualifier with a 5.56 and ran a string of 5.5x passes with a 5.52 being the best, and went on to win the race. Scary thing is there is ALOT left in it. I Swear i think this thing will run 5.30s. Thought i would let all my S10 buds know. Thanks fellas.

p.s. those 1/8 times just blow me away... thats right on par with a solid 8 second run in the 1/4. remind me what you're running again? a built 406 + a buttload of spray?

very nice ray
getting noticed by the track owner (http://dragway.holdenquinn.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=212)
always feels great.
Knathrup, if i told you my combo you would call me a liar but lets just say its way less than 400 cubic inches. I was leaving dead out on 50 shot and turning on 200 1.2 seconds out in the second kit. Had the slowest 60 fts of all the cars there but made it up on the big end.

Ray, awsome run! Sounds as if you have her dialed in. You are only running a total of a 250 shot? I don't know how you do it but I think we all only wish we could get there http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

Geez, that's GREAT! RayL's the top dog around these parts.... and the Mississippi parts too!
And the "only 50" shot on the launch probably helps save parts, and improves consistency too. Ya think?

Thanks for the props Scotty. My truck runs like a dog on motor so i needed something to get it rolling. Two weeks ago i tried leaving on motor and then just turning the fogger on .8tenths out and it would pull the wheels up over the gaurdrail and was wanting to move over. With the steering wheels in the air i would have to peddle it. Dead out on the 100 shot in the plate it would tote the tires way out so i wasnt able to turn the fogger on till way out there. Leaving on the 50 in the plate yeilded some low 1.40 60fts with the tires about 6 inches off the ground and had planned on turning the fogger on sooner but didnt have to. I feel that if i had to i could off clicked the fogger on as soon as .6-.8 tenths out instead of 1.2 out like we ran it. It ran good and i was impressed. For those that understand fogger jettings, i had 28n/24f in the fogger. I have jets up to 44n/40f for it.. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif . Next test session i believe we are gonna go up to 32n/28f and turn it on the same 1.2 seconds out and see what happens. WE SHALL SEE

That's great ray... can't wait to hear what she does. Are you on 28/10.5/15 ET Drags? SSM lift bars?
As a fellow s-dimer, im happy to hear that a stock suspension setup properly tuned will carry us to some very quick times. I will get there soon...

I thought if you wasn't you might want one. I know where theres a FJO mini controller at for 220 bucks. You will need a laptop to upload your custom program into the FJO mini controller. I have played with it a little and the program is simple and quick. Call (423) 388-0016 this is the guys cell who needs to get rid of it. He has 290 buck in it I think.
