Long block

Went to a machine shop today to see how much a 330hp 350 would be and what parts would be used. The guy said something about a long block. What exactly is a long block? Is it a block with heads or something else? If it is different, what is the difference in size?

long block is everything but the intake and fuel system..



lower rotating assembley, heads w/complete valvetrain and timing chain.

ypu can get and entire 350 with 330 hp complete from carb to pan. i think it even comes with an air cleaner. go to like jegs.com then complete engines/crate engines. you can find the same motor cheaper from other places but that is a good start. good luck.

Carb to pan, thats more of a crate motor.
