hey i have a 92 s-10 that had a 2.8 EFI in it and im putting a carbed 350 in it out of a 76 caprice wagon im from NJ and i was wondering what emissions my truck will have to meet like the emissions for the V6 EFI or for the older V8 carbed motor and where do i get like crome alternator brakets and that kinda stuff in crome? thanks for the help Joe

most states require that your truck pass emmisions for the year truck and engine that was in the truck to begin with, some states go beyond this and state that you can not put any engine in older than the truck, also some state that if the engine was EFI before you can not put a carbed engine in it. To be sure call and ask.

You can get chrome stuff from jegs or summit. My local Auto Parts store has all sorts of chrome parts.

How do i find out laws about engine swaps i never knew about the old engine in new car thing. I live in NY so if anyone else did a v8 conversion and lives in NY please help me

ive got the same worries... anyone know if they will fine you right off the bat or will they just deny you until you do something about it?

I figure since you people have internet access you have access to a phone. Call and ask what the law in your state, county, city etc.... is. When you do get the correct information and not hear say, post it.

sounds like a good page for the site convertion/emmision laws for each state
