i know that i have asked this before but ..i have changed a few small items...my motor is a 427 big block...it has 2.19 and 1.88 valves fully ported closed chamber heads...11-1 compression....850 holley dp...performer intake...i have changed my mind and im not using a soild cam ..but a hydralic cam ..it has a lift of .540 and the durution is 228 and 238...the rear gears are 4.11 and of course it still has all the msd stuff...as always it\'s going in my 1992 s10..i was going to use a team-g intake and a soild cam ..but i decided that i wanted to drive it a little more with out having to adjust the rockers and stuff...thanks guy\'s

Given the right traction and elevation, i dont see why it wont run high 10\'s-low 11\'s at around 135.

High 10\'s/125.

Wrong Compression.

True 11 to 1 is to much for pump gas.

So you might as well go to 13-14 to 1 and use race fuel. And get another 100 hp.

Or go back to 10.0 and use pump gas and end up with more power on pump gas.

But 11 to one is useless.

i have ran 11-1 on 93 octane pump gas several times with no problem\'s....the dome on the piston is about .80-100ths...with a 98cc head...i could always get a thicker head gasket ...if seen at least 1/2,,-1 point drop using this method...im trying to keep this motor streetable and still run some good et\'s...i feel pretty save with 11-1 on 93...thanks for the info...if i can run 10.90-11.50\'s and drive it there ...man i\'ll be tin in high cotton...lol..

I\'ve ran 11.5:1 in two of my motors on 91 octane. Works fine unless your trying to put 40* of timing in it, which is useless

i\'ll keep that in mind...i will prob.run alike a125 shot of nitrous later any way...so i will get my timing at bay...thanks for the info....i would be very happy to run 12.50 and still drive it every day if i wanted to...

well if your running just the performer intake, you hurting the motor. I would put a Victor JR on it.

What is your RPM range, what size tires, rearend and is it tubbed. Just a few questions

12.5:1 would be too much for pump gas. Unless you kept the timing at like 24* total, and then that would rob so much power that it would be pointless to run 12.5:1 in the first place. Go with 11.5:1 and put the timing at about 31* total , bump it back to about 27 if you spray 125, unless your running race fuel at the time.

the truck is not tubbed...i plan on getting so ladder bar\'s put on....i have 4.11 gears....my slick\'s are 28..tall and 10.5 wide....im only wanting to turn it about 5500-5800 rpm...im looking for low speed tq i was told by ,many racers ..that a victor and team g intakes are great but are intended for higher rpm\'s...and for what my motor ..is a dual plan would be better for the strip-street combo....i should have lots of low end power and still have some top end..as for the compression...the piston part number says 11-1 with my 98cc..closed chamber head...i think i will do some testing ...first with this combo than switch to a victor or team-g...and see what happens

i say high 10\'s low 11\'s providing traction, you should be able to make it hook with the slicks you listed with the right suspension setup, in my 355 i had 11.3:1 compression, ran no problem on 91 octane, it also had aluminum heads, aluminum heads help with heat disipation and eliminate a lot of detonation, but anyway, yeah get it runnin and let us know for sure!!! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

That intake is choking you, and the cam seems a bit tame. Either way, I\'d look for 11.2-11.5@123 or so.

keep in mind that this is a true street truck ..i will drive it at least 3-5 times a week....i did\'t want to go to radaical on the cam ...the bigger the cam the more stall you have to have....i wanted something that really snaps hard when i hit the throtle....i love lots of low end power...i will run this come for a while and than go to a team g or victor...and see what happens
