Something tells me no but with a MKVIII/3.8L Taurus fan, distilled water and some Purple Ice (http://www.royalpurple.com/retail/products/purpleice.shtml) or RedLine Water Wetter (http://www.redlineoil.com) it very well could.

\'97 MKVIII Lincoln. But the JTR book says use the \'90-\'95 3.8L Taurus fan (supposed to be the same) because the shroud fits the vette rad.They\'re about 150 bucks new HERE (http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=selectTree&CatalogID=1&siteid=213671). It fits the vette radiator just right and the fan motor is about 4-1/2\" thick. It moves 5000cfm at 33Amps! Biggest e-fan out there. I\'ll be using that fan on mine. MORE FAN STUFF (http://www.geocities.com/smithmonte/Auto/MarkVIII_Fan.htm)

the way i see it is if it can cool a high performance car without a grille and very little air flow, why can\'t it cool a big block with a huge grille and lots of air flow? i\'d say yes, you might need some of those additives i used a stock 4.3 rad with my 400+hp 355 it ran a little warm and i used some stuff called 40 below, it worked awesome, it can drop your temerature up to 40 degrees, now thats impressive, i tired redlines watter wetter with strait water and it dropped the temp about 15 degrees, but it wasn\'t quite enough to get it where i wanted

I have purchased this fan off of EBAY for $35. but I still having problems with which temp sensor to use?

i really dont think that i will have 4-1/2 in of room ...even with a aftermarket radiator...i hear that these raditaors cool better than a regular 4 core made of brass....

i just read the info on the mark 8 on the fan...it says 5000 cfm..is that correct...it also says it is 6.5in thick...thats a lot...i did have that much for when i had a 350 in my truck...and the 427 in several inches longer,,,...i wonder if i put in a raditor that fits in thr core support if it would clear

opps i meant that i did not have that much room

A big block is only 2\" longer than a small block.

why the hell did that guy make the wiring so complicated? why not just get a high amp relay and run it off a dash mounted switch? i dont understand that . how do you guys have your taurus fans wired?

Summit has a radiator that will fit in the core support(notch for the radiator cap which you will not be able to openwill have to put one on the radiator hose. These radiators are 27.5 X 15.5. These fit slick in the core support. They have three different models($190, $290, $490). Griffen says that the middle one will cool up to about 450 horse. I bought the $490 for my blown BB , I haven\'t got the truck running to try it. They said that this will cool up to 800 HP. Before I bought the blower (3\" gilmer belt)there was enough room for a regular radiator(three core) in it\'s normal location. I just had a short water pump. This was usin the small block mounts(hooker style plates) Remeber that more cubes are going to need more cooling. An s-10 grille isn\'t very big, I plan on building air ducts behind the grill so that all of the air goes to the radiator and not towards the headlights. Hope this helps.

Just thought of another thing. I set the motor back and down to give me more clearance. I pushed the firewall back on the driverside 1\"(very simple I think Gm made it this way). Then I built the mounts right on the frame. The center of the motor mount is on the crossmember not sitting of like the plates. This would solve you problem of not enough room. I have about 3-4\" from my pulley face to the core support. Just a thought!!!!!!

Because it\'s a high current 2(two) speed controller!
Yes u could use a relay for high but what about low speed?
Anyone know details of those \"water wetters\"...especially the 40 Below mentioned in another reply? How do they work, and do you use them with normal radiator water/glycol mix or strictly water and the \"wetter.\" I must lead a sheltered life, never heard of them anywhere but here...constantly learning new things here!

at this point, i am pretty much sold on that fan in back of the vette rad.

screw low speed. i plan to only run it at high speed, and think i have my wiring plan a little more simplified. http://www.blazinlow.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=145225\" BORDER=\"0\" BORDER=\"0\" BORDER=\"0\" BORDER=\"0" BORDER="0

Well put. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif Then I would use one of those giant (~1\") blade type slow-blow fuses in that circuit so the initial \"locked rotor\" condition of that fan motor wouldn\'t vaporize it. 50A would prolly do it.

ive been tring to deside if i will use one of those slow blow fuses like you suggest, or a circuit breaker. i think maybe one of those fuses will be good, the initial current draw probally only lasts for fractions of a second. i am still thinking about a c/b because i antisipate having to frequently change fuses with the current being that high, and the fan fliping on and off so much with the temp switch. it is definatly something to think about.
i will probally fasten all of my electrical components and control units to the bottom of my home made aluminum fan shroud, so they arent such an eye sore like that mustang guy\'s are.
