I just got an s10 that was lowered 3inches in the back by blocks. The front was not lowered at all. It is already set up for a small block. I was just wondering how much will a 305 tpi lower the front end?? I was hoping for about the same as the back. If it does not lower it enough for my likeing are there any cheap solutions for lowering the front end??

thanks

you can cut the springs but only do a little at a time like 1/2 of a coil and try it it thats a long time to get it right but it cheap

theres a formula on the net some were that takes into account original load rating and height and then you just use the height you want and it tells you how much to cut I dont have access to my computer so I can\'t tell you but try doing a search.

dependsing on what springs the truck had (4cylinder springs-43 springs) it will drop various amounts, up to an inch or maybe a little more, my 2.8 springs only dropped about 1/2\" from stock ride height, so i cut out exactly one coil and it dropped it 3\" from stock ride height with the 2.8, so the weight of the v8 might not get it far enough down, when your cutting them cut about a 1/4 of a coil at a time, a good rule of thumb is ever inch of uninstalled height is 2\" of installed height, go by that and see how far it drops with the weight of the engine, take into account the weight of the fluids and stuff to so don\'t measure dry and the springs might take a while to settle if the truck has been sitting with no engine in it for a while

I used 2\" blocks out back and cut my 2.8 A/C springs by one coil with a cut off wheel.

Don\'t forget to put in shorter shoocks up front and cut the front snubbers a little. Out back, with blocks you don\'t have to change the shock length.

Check out my pics and you\'ll see what it looks like with these modifacations done.
