I have a 88 S-10 wich is EFI that I\'m putting a 91 TBI 350 and 700R4 in. I\'m using the 91 truck harness. My question is about the speed sensor.

I changed the tail shaft over to operate on the 88 speedo cable. JTR told me I have a sensor already on the back of my speedo in the dash that will work. Can I just plug the new trani sensor into the back of my speedo, or do I have to change the wiring in the harness. I think the wire\'s are purple and green. Anyone done this before.

Ice Queen, is there any way possible I could get the wiring diagrahm\'s for my 88 2.8 S-10, and a 91 Suburban with a 350. I tried to get the Helm\'s manual\'s but they were not available for either year. I would be enternally gratfull. Thank\'s

I dont know if gm meant the sensor to be used for a fuel injected computer its a pulse sensor for the old style of cruise control and is very low res. Im not a big fan of JTR because they have been known to do some thinks a little questionable so its upto you on how you want to proceed if your truck didn\'t come with cruise control there wont be a sensor in the dashes speedo infact Im pretty sure that sesnor has 4 wires? your best bet if you insist on using a cable driven setup is to get a cable inline sensor

Dakota Digital is one supplier of such a unit look here. (http://www.dakotadigital.com/Detail.cfm?Category=106&PartNumber=SEN-01-1)

Thank\'s for the reply. My old motor is a fuel injected 2.8 and I have cruise. Does that change anything.

Also, any chance of getting the wiring diaghram\'s. Thank\'s again.

Unfortunatly I can only get 1999+ wiring diagrams because GM doesn\'t keep there older ones on the website. your best bet would be a service manual.
