My mileage

Friday I checked my mileage, 25.3 on the highway @ 60 mph @ 1650 rpm and a light foot, never shifted out of overdrive and flat roads and half way drafting a semi.



I rodded the crap out of it all weekend and I checked it today and it was 12.2 in town haulin .

14 highway crusing at 65mph at 1800rpm and 4mph town with an extreamly heavy foot is what i was gettin last year, mind you the 725 mighty demon and the big cam probably didn\'t help my fuel milage at all, but 400+ hp was really nice

19mpg on the highway at 32-3400 with a quadrajet and no overdrive. In town 12mph!

Can\'t keep my foot out of it then. LOL

I\'m getting around 15 mpg average.

with my 305 i got 31mpg highway with 3.08 gears and a 700r4, it was basically idling once the convertor locked up, and in town i got 19mpg, not too bad, and it still beat 5l mustangs, my new engine hopefully will get better than that 355 that i had in it, it should cuz it\'ll have about 100hp less http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif

Man how do you get that good of gas mileage out of the 305? I have an 86 305 with overdrive tranny and I am at 2150 at 60mph, 3.73 gears, I am getting 14mpg and it is mostly highway. I guess it is because my engine is near the end of its life.

probably cuz its a fuelie, and I was drafting, 92 octane, hpIII, 31 inch tires with 50 psi, it works
