Starter Help Plz?

Hi, I\'ll be putting in a sbc 400 in my 83 s15 p/u but my block is only drilled out for the staggered starter bolt pattern. I don\'t want to drill out the hole for the straight pattern. Is there anyone either aftermarket or factory that sells a small or mini starter that\'ll fit with the 168 tooth flexplate? If so, where can I find it? If I went with the large honkin starter, generally how much clearance would I have with the frame, etc...?

Go buy a vortec v-6 starter, they are stagered..... thats what I\'m runnin.

Get a 96-98 or so 350 truck starter. It is the same one for the late model 4.3L like he said.

It is a gear reducted,high torque starter and works great. I have sold them at work for big blocks and haven\'t heard any complaints yet.

I\'ve had one on mine for like 3 years now.
