Hey all i am doing a solid front axle conversion for my 1990 s-10 blazer. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif Anyone have some references on it so i can compare my layout of plans versus one already done?

I was told no one has documented this so i was going to take a lot of pics and make a manual how to do it..

Any info be nice.

thanks .... Chris [LIST]

search on google for s10 extremists

there are a few guys on there that have done the conversion themselves. there is also a company that make a kit to put a dana 44 from a yj in an s10 but the kit is like 2500 and doesnot include the axle.

The high steer knuckle on the Dana 44 is that on all dana 44\'s or can you just make your that way, or only some come that way? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

I hate not knowing stuff lol...

all I can say is look for a Jeep Wagoneer... they are the closest to the width of an s10 and you can keep the transfercase... full size chevy is offset to the passenger side... s10, jeep, ford is offset to the driver\'s side

Im in the process of doing a frame swap to my truck thats also an option for you its costing me only 500$US to swap the frame and the bonus is my v8\'s going to sit lower and give me more rad clearance.

APPARENTLY teh yj has the same wheelbase as teh regular cab shortbox s10......so as long as its similar in width you should be able to do that....... (i know this post is old, im jsut giving advice for whoever else may be interested..... i know i want to do onehttp://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Do you have some pics showing the placement of set up? Did you use the coils up front?

Pics would be great. I am interested in the swap. I wanted to do it to mine. I have since taken it off the road, So I do have some leeway in time if I tear it allpart.
