View Full Version : Your first run.
On the very first run of my truck I realized we forgot to put the vaccum line from the tranny to the carb, well it didn\'t shift. What happened on your first run?

My first run (only made 2 since the swap) was my first time at the track. I had no clue what to do. I was so nervous, I forgot to put my seat belt on. First run was 14.18. Second was 14.03. Tranny was done after second run. On my 3rd tranny, so I havent\' made it back yet.
AFTER JUST GETING TRANNY BACK FROM REBUILT, STAGED LAUNCHED HARD LOST THE PEDAL 60 FT THROTTLE CABLE BROKE GOT IT FIXED WAS TIME TO GO. BLEW TRANNY AGAIN HAVE NOT GONE BACK YET WAITING FOR TRANNY. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

No, no. My 1st one was a TCI TH350. I lost 3rd gear on my second run. Well, on the way home I did. My second tranny was the stock NV 5 speed. I think it was going bad when it was behind my 4.3. I knew it was just a matter of time before that one went. I know my trucks way quicker than that. The automatic was holding gears in high rpm, so I was manually shifting it early at 5K. Revin her to 6K rpm she\'s a different bitch. I\'d expect low 13\'s, maybe high 12\'s if I hooked up all the way. This winter I plan on swappin cams, heads, intake, etc. Some 4.10\'s and finally posi too. Im estimating 430- 450 hp on the motor. Then a 150 shot via a NOS kit.

Wheeew, i thought you were breaking those $1,500 tremics..... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
anyway back to the subject..
On my first run, i drove it back from the shop where the swap was done(which was 45 mins from where i live) and stoped at the gas station to fill up before heading home. When i shut it off it wouldn\'t start again, No power to anything in the truck. Had to call the guys to come fix it so i could head home. Turned out to be a wiring problem since they did all of the wiring that day an didn\'t even test drive it before sending me on my way. Well after 3 hrs of fixing wiring it started and i headed home. by then it was after dark and we had just rigged up a power source for the lights. Well 2 miles later the lights stoped working. and i Was not about to stop again an screw with more wiring for 3 more hrs ,so i said screw it and hauled ass all the way home with only tail lights....wouldn\'t recomend it to anyone either...I was so scared that i was going to either hit someone or get hit that you couldn\'t have stuck a straight pin betweem my ass cheeks...LOL
