if it is like the blazers and full size you can push the interior light button \"small round button on head light switch\" push it like four times on and off and they should go out this will reset every time the ignition is turned on

pm me or instant message if i wasnt clear

Also, when the button is IN , then the interior lights do not come on when you open the door, when it is OUT they do come on when you open the door. \"ding\"

this worked for me and left a kinda neat look..

First off, you will notice a small green bubble on the passenger side dash board speaker cover. This green bubble is the Photo cell, or \"light sensor\" ... To get to it you will need a stubby phillips screwdriver to take off your speaker grill. Once removed, the photo cell will twist left 1/4 turn and pull out. Remove the 2 wire plug from the back of the photo cell.

GO TO RADIO SHACK, buy a medium sized round LED (I used RED). It will be about 30 cents ....... The LED is the only ay I have found to trick the computer - it seems that the LED creates a PERFECT resistance on the wire that simulates day time ! Take the LED and push the leads into the photo cell plug (Notice how the plug conveniently accomidates the LED wire\'s perfectly !!!] Start the truck. Look very carefully at the LED in a darkened condition --- It should be dimly lit - If not, simply swap the LED leads on the plug. Now the LED should be dimly lighted... This means your customization worked ! Check your lights, make sure they are fully manual. If not, email me and I will try to help ...

So now your LED is lighted 24/7 because the light sensor from the factory has a constant 12 volt power supply. NOT TO WORRY. If you hooked up an LED to a car battery and left it on for a VERY LONG TIME, the LED would burn up before it drained you battery. SIDE NOTE: LED\'s will last for YEARS so don\'t worry about an LED burning out (Its not a light bulb in the first place). OK, so now you can push the wiring harness and LED behind the speaker, replace the now useless light sensor and replace the speaker cover.

Why can\'t u just cover up some of the photo cell with something opaque-tape,paint,etc.?

There\'s no replacement for displacement!

if you just cover the sensor it will think it\'s night all the time, won\'t it???

Yep-and put the lights in full manual mode. I have no idea if this will work but it\'s simple and worth a try-huh?

I was told that there is a relay inside the glove box that runs the running lights. I pulled it out on my 97 and it shuts off the running lights, but when you go to turn the headlights on at night..one is real dim. Maybe this will work on a 99..something to try anyways.

on 99 and newer nthe DRL is located under the hood but I think thats not what they wanted I think they were talking about the auto lights which turn onm at night.

covering the sensor will cause the lights to run all the time when the key is on.

putting and LED in the sensoir disables it the BCM oir body control module is what runs your auto turn on lights.

he`s talking about the DRL,

i was going to suggest a couple of clicks on the emergancy brake, but i see you tried that already, most of the time, the DRL module is behind the dash board, atleast on the late 80`s early 90`s
