Anyone ever use the Accel Super coil for there HEI cap?

I don\'t have one on my S15 but i had one on a 78 Trans am i had acouple years ago. I never felt a difference between the stock or accell one. I think the stock one puts out just as much spark as the aftermarket ones.

i had it on mine and couldnt turn it far enough so i took it off and put the super hei kit on it from msd

a little street secret....use a msd ...accell...or whatever brand ...i took the insides of the coil out of the housing and put them in the factory housing...for 2 reasons the after market coil was to big and it would;t let me turn the distoubor very much...and second it looks stock...and i have found that it is easier to get some one to race you if they dont see a bunch of aftermarket stuff under the hood.... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

How is the coil too big? Am I missing something. A coil for a HEI distributor goes under the cap. What wouldn\'t let you turn the cap.

accell blows... you can get a msd one with much better spark for not much more money definately go with the msd

i just put on a mallory distrubitor with mallory high perf coil with some msd 8.5 super conductors and delco rapid fires.. i highly reccomend the plugs/wires/(quality) coil!

When I put mine on I had a cap and rotor, plugs and wires that were about 2 years old, my engine was missing pretty bad put that coil on and my miss went away, thats the only good thing I noticed about it that and i think it looks cool.(it was givin to me the only reason i got it)
