I pretty sure me elctric in tank pump is toast so i want to know if i can put a mechanical pump on my 350 with the tbi. How much pressure does the tbi system needand can the regulator in the TB itself control the pressure or do i need something else?

Most mechanical pumps only do 7PSI some belt driven racing applications do more but you\'ll have to cut all 4 lims off to pay for it and the pump wont last long because its made to pump ethanol not gas stick with the intank or go with an inline electric if you dont want to touch the tank.

Chances are good that your block and cam do not have the provision for a mechanical pump. This all depends on what year your engine is.
You could go with an aftermarket pump with 13-15 psi that goes in line.

the block is a 79 350 and has the provisions for the pump, and so does the cam. i told the machinist that i was gonna run a carb then decided tto stay fuel injection.
I think im gonna just use a inline electric pump cause idont want to touch the tank until i can afford to replace it.

Yes the block and cam will work for what you\'re trying to do. Get an in line fuel pump that delivers 13-15 psi and mount it as close to the fuel tank as you can get it. Don\'t forget you\'ll have to have a return lineback to fuel tank also.

you will need more fuel pressure than that my factory tbi runs at 18psi,constant also the pressure you run may not be the same VOLUME with an external pump i would just drop the tank and put the correct pump back in the tank

ok well im gonna run a holley blue pu,p twith the max pressure spring that will give me 19 psi and mount it online. my truck all ready has a returm line so this weekend im gonna install the pump and try to fix my wiring harnes. if it all goes well i may have it on the road again by the end of the weekend.
