I have a 89 with 373 gears. I dont care for the high rpm going down the road. I know you can\'t have your cake and eat it to, but I\'m opened to suggestions. Thanks in advance.

What tranny r u running? With a 700r4 you should not be at that high rpms. But if you still think that ur rpms are too high i would say go with a 3.42 or a 3.23 rear. I would not go with anything less than that or you wont have the get up and go that you want.

i ran 4.11\'s with my 700r, it ran 2800 on the highway, i\'m switching to 3:73\'s because i don\'t like it, with my old engine it was awesome because i could rev it to 7grand and not have any problems, this engine really struggles above 5500, so unless your running a engine with a crazy redline stay with 3:73\'s with a 700r, it\'ll be pleanty good enough

I run a 3.42 with a TH-350 and 235/55-16\'s and turn 2800 at 55mph. 3200-3400 at 70-75 mph. I have no problem turning those r\'s cuz I know small block can b buzzed to 4000 all day long and take it. I get 19mpg at 32-3400 rpm with the motor I have, so rpm\'s are no big deal too me.

I\'d go with the 3.42\'s as a very good all round ratio for the street. Just my opion.

i just went to that site. i think i might have put in some wrong info, dose 52 mph @ 1500 rpm sound right if i have a 5th gear ratio of .73 and 3.23 rear with 275/60/15?

Nope, thats what I got. I\'ve checked that page against 2 of my trucks, and it was very accurate.
