I\'m getting ready to paint my new cab and i want to make the firewall as smooth and clean as possiable. I took the ecm out and plan on pluging off the hole for it, but i noticed that there is a wire that runns under the dash that connects to the ecm beside the two engine harness plugs. Is this an important wire? If i clip all the unnessary wires off the harness will it hurt anything? I would purchase a new harness, but i\'m running low on cash, and really would rather just use what i have.

no i beleive that it\'s just a wire for a relay for the pump in the tank... i think... not positive on that one, if your not using the tank in the pump forget about it, it\'s no big deal, i took mine out and it\'s no problem, everythign works fine

I already know where the wire for the fuel pump is. it runs off of the oil pressure sending unit from the old 4cly. Its a thicker wire that runs from the ecm inside the cab up into the dash somewhere, probaly for a idiot light or something. I\'m more concerned about cutting up the harness and it still working.
