He did say it was built by people with money to burn. There is an old saying \"Speed costs money-how fast can you afford to go?\"

A stock 454 should do those #\'s. The truck I have now went 9.9x before it spit the axles out. 454 with a plate.

I am running a pump gas 580
I have pictures on the Gallery Race Trucks page.
Check it out.
It will run low 6.30 in the 1/8 mile. That\'s 9.90 in the quarter.

Well, he did say it had a plate. A BIG plate I\'d guess! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif Also, the track may have been on a 20 deg. downhill incline.... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif
.......... But seriously, you\'ve got to wonder how \"legal\" some tracks are in that respect. Even here in NJ, I\'ve been told that \"EVERYBODY runs a tenth or two quicker at Atco vs. Englishtown\", same with Island Dragway. I can\'t say from personal experience, this is just what I\'m told. Maybe they just spray more \"molasses\" on the starting line at other tracks.... I dunno. Anybody know firsthand, if some tracks are \"shorter\" than others, or if their timing equipment is \"tweaked\"?

Well I for one would have to say that if it\'s got a \"nice\" 468 and driven on the street,10.80 would be a VERY good time. I know we all have heard it over and over agian about how \"My turck run\'s in the 9\'s on pump gas and I drive it on the street too\" ,but how many of these FAST trucks or cars really can do what the owner says it can? I\'m not trying to put anyone down. I have been around the block a few times and have heard it all. Until I see a time slip or can hear and see the truck in person I usally take these kind of statements with a grain of salt.
Here\'s one for all of you that have \"9 sec.\" trucks, take a picture of you with the timeslip and your truck to prove me wrong.
Jeff.....

There is a Mustang guy at the local Chevy dealer that has a video somewhere of my truck in action.
I think it had a 250 plate on it.

I guess it is all in how \"stock\" you mena. There is a guy at Rt66 that has the 3rd fatsest stock motored LT1 Camaro in the country, mind you anything and everything not bolted directly to the block has been changed or modified. Sometimes people will say stock motor, but it has just the stock short block with huge runner/ small chamber heads, cam, intake, exhaust, etc, etc.

That\'s what I meant mzoomora.
When this thing runs again, it will be far from how it was before.
