hello, what did everybody do for the spedometer in there truck? I only go about 30 and it buries the needle really quick. Is there a different gear or something and how do I go about getting it? also is there anyone who has a seperate gauge for their spedometer or does everyone just use the stock gauge, mine only goes up to 85 or 90, whatever mine comes with.

I removed all of the stock guage cluster and made my own using Autometer guages...Including a 160mph Speedo. Also i believe that the mechanical Autometer guages are better, at least it makes me feel better to know that they are new and that i put them in. The way i see it, if your speedo is pegging out at around 30 then how do you know that your temp, oil and what not is not off too..could be a really bad deal.

Inside the tailshaft housing of the TH350 is a plastic gear (on the tailshaft) also the small plastic gear on the end of the speedo cable (where it hooks to the tranny). GM dealer has different gear sets available. Depends on rear gear ratio and rear tire diameter. I would suspect your tranny is speedo geared for 2.73 or lower and you are probably running 3.42. Take these plastic gears out (they are color coded) and take them to your local GM dealer, explain the problem, tell him what rear gears you have and the Diameter of your rear tires and he should be able to hook you up. You may have to try a couple of different sets until you get the right ones. Good Luck
